Hey everyone! Things here in Japan are going wonderfully! YUP,YUP,YUP!!! We are loving it here! The Okinawan people are incredible. They are some of the nicest people we have ever met!
We have selected a house. We should be in the house on Thursday the 21! YAY! The house is wonderful! It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms...sort of...Japanese style is a little different, laundry roomm, nice big kitchen...meaning that it has counter space and cupboard space (things are done different here), big living room, dining room and a HUGE balcony!!! Big enough to fit a play area for Clayton, a patio table and chairs and a barbecue grill and still have TONS of room. It also has some shoe cupboards right inside the door...the Japanese people take their shoes off when entering a house to keep unclean things out. The house was over our price range by a lot but after talking to the owner he dropped the price for us. YAY! The house is in Okinawa City about a 20 min drive from the base and a 5 min drive from a major beach and a walk away from the biggest park on the island. So we are very excited. We will be posting pictures as soon as we get our Internet hooked up. (I am at the library right now.)
On Monday we will be receiving our car. We got a Mitchubichi Dion. It is a mini van...literally a mini van! It is just a tad bigger then a station wagon...lol. (Kind of like one of those box ones we where joking about in Germany Kaleena!! He, he!) It is a 2002 and it ultimately seats 7 people however the back two seats are kind of like the stow and go seats. That way we can have a HUGE trunk area if we want. It is silver, had 2 sun roofs, front and rear AC, 6 CD changer and a built in GPS!We will be posting pictures when we get a chance.
Also, we have made our first friend. She is a local Okinawan and her name is Mikari but people call her Mika She is married to a fellow Air Force member. She is 20 years old and they like to do the same things that we do (golf, bowel...ect).
We have been so blessed being here in Japan. Our Heavenly Father has provided for us WONDERFULLY!!!! We have had so much help since being here and we have made friends, found a wonderful house, a wonderful car and inexpensive cell phone plans! We are excited that things are progressing so quick and smooth for us.
I am so happy things are going good for you. I cannot wait to see pictures. I miss you guys.

ReplyDeleteWe just found out that we are PCSing to England and there are a lot of vehicle regulations to follow. Looks like we won't be able to take our truck with us. What did you end up doing with your vehicle?
