ELMO BIRTHDAY CAKE

Clayton turns 2 today! It is crazy to think that he is already two! They sure do grow up WAY too fast! So far we have loved EVERY moment of being Clayton's parents. We are extremely blessed that we have the privilege to raise him. We thank our Heavenly Father each and every day for him!

We are having a birthday party for him today! The theme for his party is Elmo! Clayton LOVES Elmo! Our plans have changed a little since it is rainy but it will still be fun. But we will post more about that tonight. He is having a joint birthday party with a friend of his that shares his birthday. So it should be a lot of fun. We are very excited!

Tia volunteered to make the birthday cake. She had a lot of fun making it! It was her first time to actually DECORATE a cake. She did good. She is upset about a few things but Cameron says that it is just fine and that Tia is just being too picky. Here are the starting ingredients. Tia made the frosting with her moms YUMMY recipe!
Tia first iced the eyes, nose and mouth.
Here she is working on decorating Elmo.
Even when Elmo was done she kept adding finishing touches until Cameron told her to just leave it alone because she was being too picky.
The finished product. What do you think?
Tia also decorated a cupcake for both birthday boys and put a candle on top of them. So that they can both blow out the candle. Also that way we all can eat spit free cake. Tia thinks its gross when you see kids spit all over the cake while blowing out candles then your expected to eat it. YUCK!

Ultimately we are very happy with the cake.

BUBBLE BATH

Christmas Day Cameron gave Clayton a special kind of a bubble bath. He decided that this was the perfect time and place to play with Clayton's new bubble gun...we know who plays with that more...ha, ha, ha! Clayton loved all of the bubbles!

We love how his whole face lit up because of how much fun he was having with the bubbles!

CHRISTMAS DAY

So on Christmas Eve we opened our Christmas Pajamas. Clayton got two pairs one from Great Grandma Mitchell and one from Great Grandma Nelson. We were thankful that he got two pairs. Because he managed to have a blowout that night and so having the second pair was great! Thanks Great Grandma's!! After we opened Christmas Eve Pajamas we read a simplified version of the Christmas Story. We thought that this would keep his attention better and we were right!
In the morning Clayton was so excited to see his bike from Santa. We have decided that our children will receive one gift from Santa and a stocking. The rest is from mom, dad, sister and other family members. We figure that we can teach him that Santa brings one gift for those that don't need more and then he brings more those in need. Of course we are not focusing on Santa because that is not the important thing about Christmas. We are teaching him the true meaning. But we believe that Santa can still help teach your children to give to others.
Clayton still has a hard time peddling his bike but we are working on it. We just don't seem to have very many nice days to go outside and play on it.

Great Grandma Knudsen sent some money for us to buy Christmas gifts and we decided to buy him a sit and spin. He loves it! Thanks Great Grandma Knudsen!

Tia's mom helped us to get some stocking stuffers. Since we don't have very many inexpensive options at the BX for this. She went crazy and got TONS! We have plenty for his Easter Basket too. Thanks Grandma Young!

He finally decided just to dump the stocking out instead of pulling things out one at a time.

He got a Lightening McQueen and a Mater car. He LOVES THEM! But he loves Cars!

Clayton got a few pairs of sunglasses! He loves to wear them around the house. He even loves having Mom and Dad wear them too.

He likes to walk around the house with his little snake hissing. Such a cutie!

His Christmas loot so far...... He sure was spoiled by family!
Aurora enjoyed her Christmas Day as well. She was not being attacked by her big brother because he was too busy with Christmas gifts.

Clayton opened Auroras Christmas gifts as well. Then he would hand them to her.

He loves his new Elmo movie! Elmo is one of his favorites!

All of his Christmas loot. Like I said he sure was spoiled by family!

Aurora and everything she got for Christmas.

We had a wonderful Christmas Day! We loved getting to talk to all of our family members and we had a BLAST!
