LITTLE FAKE BAKER

When we left the hospital on Saturday they told us to return on Sunday so that they could double check Claytons Billy Rubin levels (AKA Jaundice). It turns out that his levels went up and so they admitted Clayton into the hospital until the levels went down. At first they put him on a bottom light only. They did this for 24 hours to see if it would make his levels go down to where they should be.

The next afternoon they checked his levels again just to find out that they did not go down much and so they added a top light. So now he is in a full out mini tanning bed. They kept him under both lights for another 24 hours. The only time that he was not under the lights was when he was eating or getting his diaper changed.

While in the bed they gave him some awesome looking glasses to protect his eyes. We kept them to keep with his baby book as a memento.

At the hospital Cameron and his little boy took plenty of naps (we all did)...might as well catch up on sleep while Clayton is asleep...Right?

Well, on Monday morning they tested Claytons Billy Rubin levels once again and they had gone down considerably and he was eating well with plenty of dirty diapers and so they released him from the hospital Monday afternoon. YAY! We where all very excited to be able to come home again!!

  3. Niki was the "gelb man" too and had to do treatments. Your sense of humor with the tanning bed and eye protection is a hoot. Hope your humor lasts through these diffiuclt first few months!
