We are back from our cruise! While it is nice to be home it is sad that we have to return back to reality. With jobs and such. Here are a few highlights from our trip and some pictures for everyone to enjoy:
29 AUG Arrived in Rome
-When we arrived in Rome our cab driver...was not there. We had scheduled for him to be there waiting for us when we arrived but he was late by about an hour. However, once he arrived we where on our way to the port. In Italy driving was interesting! No one cared about what lane you where in...if you where even in a lane and blinkers-what are those? It's CRAZY! As long as no one gets hit people seem to be ok with anything...and I mean ANYTHING!
-Once we where at the port we ended up being early. Which then made it so that we where one of the first 10 people on the ship...other then employees.
-Waiting for the ship to set sail we explored and taught ourselves how to play a new game. (Well, an old game but new to us.) SHUFFLE GOLF!!! It was a lot of fun! We had a lot of people walking around the decks laughing at us...so all in all everyone had a good time.
30 AUG Day at Sea
-We decided that since we had a long day at sea ahead of us that we would join in some of the fun...so we took Ballroom Dancing Lessons. We learned how to do the Waltz. It is fun and I am sure that we look awkward. Neither of us are very good. But they do say practice makes perfect.
-We played a game of BINGO today (with raffles mixed in). Cameron won a prize of alcohol and due to religious reasons we could not claim the first 2 items that they offered us. It was very entertaining! They did not seem to mind they where just shocked because who turns down an expensive bottle of wine? No one they have seen until today. LOL!
-The people sitting at the table with us are all nice. They are:
Joe and Nancy- They are from Michigan. They got married 4 months ago and are on there honeymoon.
Tony and Ebeni- Also from Michigan. They are friend with Nancy and Joe.
John-Paul and Helena- They are from Ireland. He owns his own company that sells villas in Turkey. She is a student going to school to be a pharmacist.
We get along well with all of them.
-Tonight we went and hung out at a 70's disco with John-Paul and Helena.
31 AUG Mykonos and Delos Greece
-We toured the Island of Delos. It is the largest open air archeology sight in the world measuring 1 mile wide by 4 miles long. Only 1/4 of the island has been excavated to date yet it is still extremely impressive. Only guards and archeologists are allowed to live on the island.
-To get to and from the Island of Delos we had to take a ferry. The wind was blowing very strong so the waves where big and the boat was tossing back and forth. A lot of people got sick and where very uncomfortable. On the way back from the Island Tia was one of the sad ones that got sick. Yet, Cameron seemed to enjoy himself non-stop the whole time. Everyone thought he was crazy.
-The sunset was amazing and Cameron got TONS of pictures.
-We where the only ones that showed up for dinner at our table this night. It was a little odd but everyone else was either too tired or ate in town.
